The European Commission has announced that he would like to make 2009 the European Year of Creativity and Innovation.

Europe is striving to become the most competitive knowledge-based world's largest by the end of 2010. All agree that to achieve this goal it is necessary to encourage people to develop skills in a number of key areas to build a knowledge-oriented society.

The innovation is to transform knowledge into wealth, in turn know how to cash flow. Innovative ideas are the fruit of knowledge people have of an organization, the expertise, knowledge of the environment of networking .... Alfons Cornella speech, in his book "The Alchemy of Innovation", namely, knowledge hybridization as the source of the best innovations.

However, what is clear and transparent is that the origin, the source from which flows all, is in people. In many organizations are created groups generating ideas using sometimes creative techniques to encourage the emergence of breakthrough ideas.

Like the human species has adapted to changes in the environment over thousands of years, organizations adapt to their changing environment through radical innovations, surprising or shocking.

Some even bring themselves to change the game competitive through innovations in business models: Ikea, Zara or Google itself, are banners of these tidal waves in the markets.

Not enough for companies to generate profits but it's interesting that they do so through systematic innovation and minimizing the environmental impact of its processes (zero footprint).

The momentum of the environment as a variable in our development is one of the main themes that underpin the main macroeconomic policies of our government today. Citizens and governments themselves have become aware of current economic development can not mortgage the future.

On your word of fashion or, perhaps, magic potion? Is it simply that it should be mentioned in any seminar / article / conference that price or we really are facing a new scenario in which the main route for organizations to be competitive going for Innovation?

It seems that we end up discovering the innovation as if it had not hitherto existed or was a blip, even anecdotal. What has happened? What paradigm has changed?
